Welcome to the EMDR with Kids Course! Be sure to read this important information.
Dear Clinician,
I’m so excited to have you join us in Orlando for the upcoming EMDR with Kids training, happening January 8-10, 2025. This advanced, in-person training is all about deepening your skills in using EMDR with children and teens, blending play therapy in a way that’s both faithful to the 8-phase protocol and perfectly suited to their developmental needs.
Training Location:
University of Central Florida Digital Learning Center
12351 Research Parkway
Orlando, FL 32826
For those of you traveling in, here are some nearby hotels that might make your stay more comfortable:
- Hilton Garden Inn Orlando East/UCF Area
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando-UCF Area
- La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Orlando UCF
A Few Important Details:
- Parking: You’ll need a parking pass during the training. I’ll be sending out more information on that within the month, so keep an eye out.
- What to Wear: Please dress comfortably—we’ll be playing, creating, and really diving into some hands-on activities.
- Food and Drinks: We’ll have light snacks, sandwiches, water, tea, coffee, and other drinks available throughout the training. If you have any food allergies or dietary needs, just let me know so I can make sure you’re taken care of.
What’s in Store:
This training is designed to be as interactive as possible. You’ll get a colorful, 118-page manual as part of your EMDR with Clinicians kit, filled with toys, art supplies, my new Animal Imagery card deck, several of my bibliotherapy books for kids, and so much more. Plus, each of you will have your own sand tray and a set of miniatures to use during the training and take home with you.
All of your handouts will be available online two weeks prior to the training, and printed copies will be waiting for you at your seat when you arrive. Additionally, your 3-hour EMDR refresher will be available online as well, so you can review it at your convenience before we meet in Orlando.
We’ll be going through each phase of EMDR, goal by goal, integrating play therapy approaches that make the process both effective and fun. I’ve put a lot of heart into updating this training, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
If you have any questions or just want to chat before the training, don’t hesitate to reach out. I can’t wait to learn and play together in Orlando!
Take care,
Jackie Flynn
